Barn Dance Band Oscar the Frog started organising their own barndance way back in 1970 in the Old Civic Hall in Barnsley. Barndances were having a bit of a boom back then and the dances sold out every month.

Barndances were very popular with all ages and we got a lot of students attending our barndances. Other Barn Dance Bands played at the Civic but OTF were by far the most popular as we were then not much older than our student audience and played in an energetic way, unlike most Barn Dance bands at the time.
